The Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) is the French government agency under the supervision of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs that coordinates the network of 600 French schools abroad approved by the French Ministry of National Education and Youth. In 2026, this network welcomes more than 400000 pupils in 139 countries, from nursery school (maternelle) to senior year. Non-French children représent 2/3 of the student body and every year a growing number of foreign pupils to join University in France.
Guaranteeing the quality and excellence of the network, the Agency (AEFE) supports all schools and offers training for all staff. Belonging to the AEFE network is a guarantee of quality teaching as well as a positive school environment.
Pupils prepare for French diplomas (Brevet at the age of 15 and Baccalauréat at the age of 18 years old) that are recognised worldwide and open the door to Universities wherever they may be.
